Homemade High-Protein Pistachio Spread

Pistachio Spread Website Header

This homemade pistachio spread, packed with protein, is a great addition to your kitchen! Blend pistachios with Tasteless Protein (that won’t change the flavour!) and a touch of sugar-free maple syrup. It’s a fantastic, healthier option compared to regular nut butters. Enjoy it spread on toast, drizzled over oatmeal, or straight from the spoon!

Ingredients

1 ½ cups pistachios
2 tbsp peanut oil (or macadamia oil)
2 scoops Tasteless Protein by Feel Good Protein
¼ cup sugar-free maple syrup
1–2 tbsp water, if required
Take this to the next level by adding melted sugar-free white chocolate!

Method

  1. Shell the pistachios until you have 1 ½ cups.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil on the stove. Place the shelled pistachios into a metal strainer and lower it into the boiling water.
  3. Blanch the pistachios for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then remove them from the water.
  4. Transfer the pistachios onto a clean, dry tea towel and rub them gently to dry. During this process, some of the pistachio skins will naturally loosen. Hand-peel any remaining skins.
  5. Once peeled, place the pistachios into a food processor fitted with a blade suitable for puréeing. Process the nuts until they form a smooth consistency.
  6. Add the peanut or macadamia oil and continue processing until fully incorporated.
  7. Gradually add the Tasteless Protein by Feel Good Protein, one scoop at a time, ensuring each scoop is thoroughly mixed in before adding the next.
  8. Add the sugar-free maple syrup and process until the mixture is completely smooth. If needed, add 1–2 tbsp of water to achieve your desired texture.
  9. Transfer the pistachio spread to a jar and store it as you would peanut butter.
