Wow your friends and family with this delicious Sausage & Cheese Garland. It’s a mouthwatering combination of juicy beef mince, creamy cheese, and golden, flaky puff pastry. And surprisingly easy to recreate.
Ingredients
500g lean beef mince
3 scoops Tasteless Protein by Feel Good Protein
1 tbsp minced garlic and ginger
2 tbsp cranberry sauce
2 tbsp Organic Nutritional Yeast by Pimp My SaladÂ
2 tbsp Beef Gravy by Mingle
4 sheets of puff pastry
2 eggs (1 for the recipe, 1 for egg wash)
100g soft cheese, sliced
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan-forced). Line a large baking tray with greaseproof paper.
- Place three sheets of puff pastry end-to-end and gently press them together to form a long sheet.
- In a bowl, combine the beef mince, minced garlic and ginger, cranberry sauce, nutritional yeast, and beef gravy. Mix it well.
- Crack one egg into the mixture and stir until it’s combined. Then, add in the Tasteless Protein and give it one final mix.
- Spoon the sausage filling along the centre of the prepared pastry. Top with the slices of soft cheese, placing them in the middle of the mixture.
- Fold the pastry over the filling, sealing the edges as you go. Arrange it into a festive garland shape.
- Use the fourth sheet of puff pastry to cut out fun shapes with cookie cutters. Use these to decorate the top of your garland.
- Beat the second egg and brush it over the entire garland, making sure the pastry gets a nice golden glaze when baked.
- Place your garland on the prepared tray and bake for 50 minutes, or until it’s golden and crispy.
- Once baked, remove the garland from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your Sausage & Cheese Garland.
