Our Protato Bake is all about combining the best of both worlds—protein and potatoes! Topped with rich flavors of the protein-infused sauce, this carb-friendly dish is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser which can be enjoyed either as main course or a delightful side dish. Try this at home and discover for yourself the unparalleled satisfaction of thinly sliced potatoes when baked to golden perfection.
1.2 kilos of low carb potatoes
½ a large brown onion
½ cup pre-cooked silverside (you can use bacon or beef here also)
1 cup Chicken stock
1 cup light sour cream
6 scoops Tasteless Protein by Feel Good Protein
2 tablespoons Cornflour (we mix this in with our Tasteless Protein in this recipe)
2 tablespoons Dill & Garlic Ranch Mingle Seasoning
Optional Whoops We Forgot the Bagel Mingle Seasoning
½ cup grated Parmesan
First off, preheat the oven to 180C and line a baking dish with baking paper or use a non-stick dish.
Next, chop your potatoes into thinly sliced rounds and place one layer onto the bottom of the dish.
Then, finely slice your onion and sprinkle some over the top of the potato layer.
Repeat this process until your dish has approximately 2.5 cm of room left at the top.
On the top layer place the diced silverside.
Mix up the sauce ingredients into a jug – the chicken stock, sour cream, Tasteless Protein, Cornflour, and Dill and Ranch Seasoning.
Then, pour this mixture over the top of everything and then top with parmesan cheese.
Place in the oven and cook covered for half an hour and then remove the cover and allow to cook for an additional 30 – 40 minutes in the middle of the oven.
Remove when the top is golden brown and everything is beautifully cooked through.
